Welcome Firefly Families!
Thank you all for joining me on this journey. Mrs. Patton and I met in February to discuss what we wanted the Alyssa Ferguson Elementary School PTO “FE PTO” to look like. It has been quite a learning experience and I truly appreciate your patience and support. Let’s continue to learn, grow, and shine our light as a team! I want to emphasize that it’s YOU who makes all this possible. Getting involved at the school, volunteering your time, and offering financial support for our students is selfless and so very much appreciated.
We are very fortunate to have an amazing Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) filled with parents, teachers, staff, and administration who are supportive in making Ferguson Elementary a warm and welcoming community. We encourage you to be a part of our family. There will be many opportunities to make a difference at FE and it starts with getting connected on Konstella.
Above all else, reach out! I’d love to hear from anyone with feedback or questions. Our PTO is here to serve. Wishing you and your students a fun-filled, successful year!

"I am so excited to be serving as the first President of the FE PTO. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and my family moved to Sienna in 2021 for my husband Vidi's job. Our three children, Jeremiah (5th grade), Noel (2nd grade), and Peter (Kindergarten), will all be part of the founding Firefly family. I graduated 2007 from Saint Mary's College, IN, with a BA in Elementary Education. After teaching 1st grade for eight years, I became a stay-at-home mom. While I truly love being a homemaker, I still enjoy working with children. I have been able to use this opportunity to volunteer at school as well as at our church, teaching Faith Formation classes. I am passionate about volunteering and believe our involvement strengthens the school and the community. My vision for our PTO is to ensure everyone feels like they belong to our Firefly family. I hope to honor Alyssa's memory by spreading kindness and shining my light as I guide this amazing group of volunteers".

"Greetings, Alyssa Ferguson Firefly Families! I am elated to serve as the inaugural FE PTO Board Secretary! My husband, J, and I moved to Sienna in 2022 with our son, Samuel (7th grade), daughter, Naomi (1st grade), and mini Aussie, Bailey Rose. We have enjoyed being a part of this community and getting to know other families. I am a native Texan, born and raised in the small town of Columbus, TX. I moved to Houston in 2006 after graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio [UTSA] with a B.S. in Biology. I have been working at the University of Houston since 2007 and currently serve as the Director of Student Success in the Bauer College of Business and an adjunct professor. I became an #OfficialCoog in 2010 after completing a Master's in Education - Administration & Supervision. I deeply value education, along with love, family, friends, and kindness. I look forward to helping shine PTO's light to support our Firefly community and continuing our namesake Alyssa Ferguson's legacy of creating a loving and kind environment for all our students to thrive in!"

"I am currently serving as the Founding member of FEPTO and it’s been a pleasure to partner with the teachers and the parent communities to establish the school PTO.
Our family moved to Sienna in 2019 and it will be our first year attending Sienna public school and what a great way to associate with a school that’s just being set up. My husband Amit and I have 2 children- Kaira will be joining Kindergarten and Kiaan is still at Sienna Montessori !
Both my husband and I work for Dow Chemical. Outside of my day job, I like to get involved in activities to help build and supporting our communities! I strongly believe in ‘Being the Change’ and have always worked towards making meaningful contributions by volunteering for community events along with leading activities to help bring our community together.
I am blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful friends and families who support such activities as well!"

Carla Patton
Mrs. Patton was named the founding principal of Alyssa Ferguson during the Fort Bend Board meeting in April 2022. She is humbled and honored to lead the students, staff and community of Alyssa Ferguson Elementary. Previously she served as the Principal of Quail Valley Elementary.
In third grade, Mrs. Patton had an opportunity to write her autobiography. In her autobiography she penned that when she grew up, she was going to be a third grade teacher. When she started her education journey, ironically enough, the first position she held was teaching third grade students. From a young age, she knew she wanted to positively impact the lives of students just as the teachers she had in school impacted her life.
Serving in different teaching and administrative roles over the years, she whole-heartedly believes that student growth academically, socially, emotionally and behaviorally is crucial to the development of the whole child. It is her personal and professional commitment to inspire, grow, challenge, collaborate, innovate and support all students and stakeholders. She wants everyone who walks through the doors of Alyssa Ferguson to believe that they are capable beyond what they can imagine. They have the opportunities to make a difference and be a world changer, just like Alyssa.
She looks forward to meeting the students, families and community members. She is eager to begin the process of answering the question, what does it mean to be an Alyssa Ferguson Firefly and building a shared vision that supports each student in reaching their full potential.
Shine Bright, Fireflies!
